Doldrums refers to those a convergence zone of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans affected by a low pressure area around the equator where prevailing winds are calm at times trapping wind powered boats for days. It also describes a state of stagnation, mild depression or inactivity. Try making a list of things you love to do and collect what's needed for those activities at the ready. Maybe movie tickets, a gift card to your favorite restaurant, sketch book or yoga CD. If money an issue, the local library has books on tape, DVD's, books and other people. A walk in a mall is a good bet too, especially when cold weather sets in. Being active is a way to paddle your boat away from the doldrums where one can catch a nice breeze to better weather.
